  • Balancing Work and Family

    • More and more, folks are expected to work like they have no family and raise children like they don't need to (or want to) work outside the home.   Meanwhile, grandparents are still working and unable to help as much as in prior generations and community-based childcare and eldercare options remain limited.  What are dual career couples to do--especially those with medical challenges of their own, or medically fragile children or parents for whom they provide care
  • Girls' Summit

    • Kids' Day's big sibling! A annual career exploration day for 5th-10th graders  the community, regardless of their gender or gender identity.
    • A program of Girls' Inc/YWCA of Syracuse and Onondaga County with the support of ESF Women's Caucus, ESF's K-12 Programs, ERIE21, Baltimore Woods, and C/STEP of Syracuse University.

    • Annual career exploration day for  8-11 yr olds that have an adult that works or studies at ESF

  • Coffee Breaks.  Informal discussions around current campus events, challenges and strategies, and recognizing and countering biases.

  • ESF Family Pre-School Playdates
    • The Graduate Student Association and FamilyResources Group cordially invite children 5 and under and their ESF student or employee to chat and play!  (Older siblings are also welcome, as well as expectant parents, co-parents, grandparents and other guardians!).  We aim to have a rain location for any outdoor programs.  For dates and times, visit: ESF Engage

  • Workshop: Building a Better Fieldwork Future: Preventing Sexual Harassment & Assault in Field Sciences
