Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) provides an additional layer of security when logging into ESF applications on a device for the first time. Using a secondary verification method like a push notification or entering a passcode, helps protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.

1. On your mobile phone, go to the app store, install DUO Mobile
   
   
2. On a separate device, another phone or a computer, go to https://esfid.esf.edu
3. Type your ESFiD
4. Click Go
   
5. Type your password
6. Click Go
   Note: If this is the first time you have logged in after setting up your password, you will be prompted to enter you cell phone number in your profile. 
   
7. In the upper right, click Your Name
8. In the menu, click Profile Settings
   
   
9. On the right a grey details box should open, at the bottom, click Edit Profile
   
   
10. In the details box, confirm your mobile number is correct
    Note: If mobile number is empty, please type in your cell phone number
    
11. In the details box, scroll to the button, check Send DUO Activation Link
12. Click Save
    
    

Within a few minutes you should receive a text message with a link to activate DUO. Click the link and follow the directions on your phone. To confirm DUO is activated you can login to your ESF e-mail.
