With the guidance of mushroom enthusiast Sandy Bureaus, head out for an afternoon of mushroom hunting along the AIC trails. These walks will help expand your knowledge into the mysteries of mycology. Walks will be held every third Sunday at 1pm starting in May and continuing through October.
Registration is not required but encouraged.
Introduction to Fly Fishing

Licensed Fishing Guide Rick Kovacs will be your instructor for this one-day workshop, focusing on the basics of fly casting, gear, and technique. No equipment or experience required. Just bring your lunch and willingness to learn something new or work on your skills.
Foliage hike
Saturday | October 10 | 1 pm - 3 pm
Fall in the Adirondacks is like nothing else! With changing leaves and crisp air it is the perfect time for a hike on the Rich Lake trail. Join an AIC naturalist to explore all that the season offers. The Rich Lake trail is a flat 1 mile loop that winds through various habitats, including a raised boardwalk through a cedar swamp, and offers views of the Goodnow Fire Tower.
Owl Prowl

Loons often get credit for the song of the Adirondacks, but you can't forget the owls. Their calls add a sense of mystery and wilderness to any nighttime experience. On this night hike you will learn about the owls that call the Adirondacks home and experience the time of day that suits them best. This hike will take place on the Rich Lake trail, a flat 1 mile loop that winds through various habitats, including a raised boardwalk through a cedar swamp, perfect places to hear owls.

Do these critters deserve their bad reputation? Follow the adventures of a first-time
weasel mom, fearless honey badger, and a tiny orphan weasel.
Nature: Raptor - A Fist Full of Daggers

An insightful and spectacular celebration of raptors and what makes them some of the
world's most successful predators. United by a hooked beak, a taste for flesh and
a set of razor-sharp talons, these birds of prey have conquered the globe from the
African savannah to the high Arctic.
