ESF Earns ‘Tree Campus’ Distinction
ESF has been recognized as a "Tree Campus USA" by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
The Tree Campus program provides recognition for colleges and universities from across the country that effectively manage their campus trees, develop connections with the broader community to foster healthy urban forests and strive to engage their students through forestry-related service-learning opportunities.
ESF was first recognized as a Tree Campus USA in 2011. The college is one of 25 colleges and universities from New York state being honored in Albany March 30 for achieving the distinction this year. The colleges and universities, along with 110 communities that received the "Tree City USA" designation and six "Tree Line USA" utilities," were recognized during a ceremony hosted by the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
