My work sits at the confluence of art, agroecology, and design justice. At the University of New Mexico, I was influenced by my studies with Basia Irland (who taught art & ecology), and Dr. David Henkel (who taught natural resource management and also had a deep committment to social justice). I am interested in how landscape architecture can foster ecological thinking by revealing hidden connections between people and the more-than-human world, and in the classroom I try to translate this connection into reciprocity and the ethics of care. My research explores how landscape architecture is formed by, and can inform, social justice, cultural practices, and shared responsibility.
